Best Astrophotography Targets Experienced Amateur Astronomers: Do You Use A Computer (GoTo Or PushTo) To Find Your Targets?

Experienced amateur astronomers: Do you use a computer (GoTo or PushTo) to find your targets? - best astrophotography targets

I am having the approximate dimensions of search engines, which rely on computer interest to jump from which the objects with a Telrad finder, star, etc.

If not, why not? If so, why? Are you limited by time? Light pollution? Do you think that is the discovery of objects is an element of frustrating or rewarding hobby? Or do you just want the kind of gadget computer browser? If you are looking to use a computer regularly, you will find that you do not know not to heaven, and their friends who are not there?

I'm not talking about monitoring, automatic guidance or astrophotography, but I think that if you have the equipment for these things, the source used to find the target and will be ...

I choose the best answer to the logic of theAttitude of the DS, and if I agree. Thank you very much ..

I gave birth to a telescope with a motor, but not computerized German equatorial mount and a detailed manual. Not for me, with go-to is partly a feeling that the treasure hunt is a lot of fun and spend some more money for the eye, atlases and gas to go dark sky sites.

Search star objects directly can be frustrating, but I feel like I know the sky, and often leads to accidental discoveries on the road. Sometimes I helped the observers in the field of things to consider, because their scope is really just a little off, or the topic was so small or weak, I had to know that in the field of research to see.

I probably if I went into the astrophotography. I would like to upgrade my installation anywayd Astrophotography enough without looking for work and spend time trying on things.

I use to create digital media for my 10-inch. Although I can use my 50mm starhop Telrad and scope of the search engine, nights where you can see galaxies and nebulae because of cloudiness and widespread pollution rare here on the coast of Alabama. I know my way around the sky very well and my Sky and Telescope Pocket Sky Atlas and other objects found, but the DSC allows me to do most of my time observing the sky black limited. I would rather I spend my limited time observation of objects and not to chase after them, and I also try, in other galaxies, supernovae. It is very useful to be sure to see what galaxy.

My old orange tube C-8 does not even have a computer ...

I have to do things the old one - the creation of polar rings and alignments.

I like it, though - I know more.

Hello, Larry #

I am a keen observer and know your question is not really about astrophotgraphy but certainly related to use of the provision at any time when TheSky6 with a telescope with a laptop drive. and software registration, control of the camera, autofocus camera guide, etc..

As long as your erection is good, the Go-To place an object in the field of vision of 90% of the time, it saves a lot of downtime when the image of the night. (Search for an object within a radius of a few seconds through an eyepiece viewfinder, or it does not have a hard time with a CCD doen't on).

Of course, I spent much time before jumping out To-Go has (often and when I was younger) and I agree with those who say it is half the fun(Learn) your way into heaven, but with light pollution as it is to be found very difficult, the steps that are now submerged in a muddy puddle.

We do not have time or patience to do more, but my star right in the past year has taught me that could do more on the sky of a go-to push (or A).

I spend a lot of time if I decide which images visually objects before you try to track image, but use of the Go-To ", because this is", although he spent nights trying to find objects, without success, insisted he.

That's all I wanted to say thank you for the question ....... interesting.

I like to do a compromise between the hard drive and let the computer do all the work. It is also much easier to read text in batteries.

My main worry is not good bcuz star observing break the sky is too bright. but if I have some things that you can zoom in on them, add filters and the right shows. DSCS, and so I have to play three different teams (Lumicon Sky Vector, commander of the sky, Argo Navis).

born, my great tube truss three: Telrad, 8x50 finder, DSCS Argo Navis. I find nothing. :-)
