Genealogical Tree What Does "fL" Stand For On A Family Tree?

What does "fL" stand for on a family tree? - genealogical tree

I inherited a family tree of my family that was larger by a British genealogist. Most of them are replaced by "b", which I was born in the sense of "Born" (1784) and also some "D" should be followed to interpret the date of death. But many "FL" (fl 1871). This seems to happen when there is no date of death. Can someone tell me, what mean "FL"?

In almost 30 years I have done genealogical research, I have never seen this term. But I discovered what it means! Is Latin and means. fl floruit - has been at a particular time (1991 = FL in 1991 Alive Alive)

Thank you for helping me learn a new word!
